Hi, I just updated to 3.4.2 with WordPress 3.6.1.

    and I got the following

    Plugin updated successfully.

Plugin failed to reactivate due to a fatal error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home3/hotwater/public_html/brazilstartup.net/wp-content/plugins/wp-rss-aggregator/includes/feed-processing.php on line 479

    Any advice?

    Thanks,

    George

Thanks for reporting this, we’re looking into it, as soon as we have a fix we’ll issue a new release.

The issue is due to your server having a lower PHP version than 5.3

Most web hosts have 5.3 and 5.4 installed, you just need to tell them to enable it, can you ask them and let us know how it goes?

In the meantime, if you can FTP into your site, just add “-off” or some other name change to the wp-rss-aggregator folder (in wp-content/plugins/) and your site will be accessible again until you can get the PHP update.

    Fixed in new version.

Jean, are you saying that no PHP update is required for the most recent update to your plugin?

    Thanks,

That’s right, although I would still ask the web host to do it anyway, just so you’ll be in line with what most others are using.
