• my blog used to be my homepage but now i’ve got a new index file linking to various parts of my site, including my blog, so i created a new folder called ‘blog’ and moved all my blogging files there. clicking on the blogging link brings up all the text but it has lost its theme entirely. i assume i should change some settings but not sure which ones and how. please explain clearly as not great with coding etc.
    thanks in advance for your help.

  • Are you using version 1.5 or version 1.2? That will make a difference and will also help us to explain what you should do. If you are using 1.2, consider upgrading.

    how can i find out what version i am using?

    One method is to look at the source code. Or, go into your admin panel and look at the bottom of that page.

    ok checked the source code and it’s 1.5.
    next step anyone?
    thanls again…

    This is the next step:
    https://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/
    (be sure to add the directory name to these values)

    hi. for me.

    i had to go to control panel first. switch that wordpress address to subdirectory address. Then log out move all file into new folder then i log in again using new address to login.

    It work. Let hope it wouldn’t cause any errors for database.

    @musicrod,
    yeah, that’s the easy way to do it. But the OP has already moved the files… and came to ask questions after that ?? In that case one has to go into the MySQL.

    @moshu

    haha..Im quite new to this explore that myself. I encounter error if i moved files first. Ended up have to remove all and re install. Time consuming.

    But im glad the 2nd time im clever enough not to delete. ^_^
