• Hello;
I’ve been using WP platform for years now and on the course of the way I found a theme I found nice and edited it to my liking (T1).
However after recent update to 3.2.1 (from 2.8.something, as I have to always update manually and I’m too lazy to do it every single patch) the load time of my site went drastically up even on a very quick internet and machine. And I mean a lot – 10, 20 seconds to load the site, equally and more for a single article to load.
I’m pretty sure it’s theme related as on Twenty Eleven the load times go back to normal, but I really hate the idea of giving up my theme I worked on for long and suited it to my needs.
Is there any way how to find out what is causing this without the need to completely obliterate my favourite look of the site or redoing it based on 20 11?
Also, since the update my preview article turns a ‘not found’ error, I can’t tag any posts, and when I click on quick edit the article disappears from the list without anything happening.
I did try to disable and even remove by FTP all plug ins, but the problem remains.
My site is Randomly Mad, and my host is SiteGround. (With whom I never had problem before).

Thanks in advance for any advices regarding my problems.
If there would be anyone willing to look at the code of my theme and eventually make it work, I’d be delighted ??

    Cheers, Um Abbas

  • Have you tried looking in your server’s error logs?

Not really, gonna check it now.

    Edit:
Ok, checked. Only 2 errors and that’s from today – [Mon Aug 8 06:12:14 2011] [error] [client 119.63.196.124] client denied by server configuration: /home/umabbas/public_html/content, both same.

I am really not skilled in these things, but I have a feeling it’s not really related, since the problem occurs for past few days (aye, the theme worked nicely till about 2 days ago even on the new update, than it just decided not to anymore.)

Sorry but the problem could be almost anything within your theme.

Ok, and what about the other problem…?
I’ve searched and read jand seems to be quite common, but uninstalling the plug ins didn’t do the job…

The two issues could well be related. Have you tried switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

Yes indeed I did, and it persists with completely clean Twenty Eleven (no child) and even plugins off / on / uninstalled / frshly installed.

That’s the major bug for me.
I’m already trying to get around working the 20 11 theme to make it as close to my original one as possible..

The only thing which comes to me is a/ host related problem (it’s happening ever since the new update was installed)
b/ somewhat weirdly theme related (is it possible for a deactivated theme to make mess?)

A deactivated theme should not leave anything behind it. That said I can’t see any obvious problem on your site at the moment. All of the pages – including the single post page – load pretty quickly.

Yes indeed, I reworked the whole theme yesterday based on Twelve Eleven.

I still cant tag, quick edit nor preview.

Never mind, hopefully it will sort out.

Anything regarding the quick edit, tag not working? Also found out I can’t use edit button on page, if I wanted it from published to draft.

Latest update of WP, no addons activated, 20 11 theme, still not working.

I also got this problem (quick-edit broken) after upgrading to 3.2.1
I have tried switching back the default theme but to no avail.
