3.2 Upgrade took site and editing down

So the first place I looked was in the Troubleshooting forum where I found the “challengingly” long and technical sticky on the 3.2 upgrade. I couldn’t parse out what applied to my WP site which is that it’s all there, but inaccessable either by browsers or for editing.

Have I unhooked plug-ins? No, the site can neither be viewed or edited.

Have I reinstalled WP? No, because I don’t know the risk of wiping out files associated with the site’s look and feel. The consultant who built the site did so without using a WP template.

Am I stuck without access? I sure hope not.
