I need a theme created for my site, and can’t do it myself. it needs to blend right in with my site and look exactly like it. I will pay money for a theme. MONEY!!! COLD HARD CASH!!!! I need this theme set up.

Email me at [email protected] with your price. This is a quick way to make 20 bucks or so, and I’m sure someone can do it for me. When we agree, I shall send you my site files, so that you can make a theme that looks just like it.

    Thankyou so much,
    Karan

  • $20, how generous….

Web design tends to go for $40-$60/hr, but I have seen some designers only charge $20/hr.

Original themes, depending on the features they have, usually take 5-20 hours. I charge $30 an hour, which is relatively inexpensive, actually.

    $600 for a theme O_o….

If you want your site to be unique (and nice, of course), $600 is a steal.

    Hi Karan,
You might also try a service like BlogMoxie. I believe they have a custom quote option so you can tell them exactly what you need and perhaps they can help.

    Best of luck! ??

    LOL $20

    LOL

It’s not so hard to get a theme for $20…. just a bit of compromise on the quality. ??

maybe take the OLD wordpress template and change a few colours?

You get what you pay for.

For $20, I would not do any new design concept but I’ll just do some simple customisation of the existing themes. Additional images are charged seperately. The same goes for additional HTML/PHP coding.

I’m not sure 600 bucks is a steal – I agree the design side of it is where the core of it would be. For double that cost you could probably get yourself a custom built blog site without the need for WP. WP is after all the core base, but $600 for a design? I guess it’s a question of how good it is then, because it’d have to be stonking great.

On the other hand, it does put into perspective the amount of (wo)man hours that have gone into around 271 themes * 10-15 hours (I would double or triple that) * by $20….

    lucky community eh? ??

The relatively informal and supportive nature of the WP community does occasionally lead folks to forget what good web standards designers normally charge. ??

We’re a spoiled lot, we are.

I think a lot of people just plain don’t realize how much time and effort go into creating just a layout. I have come to the point where it doesn’t even make my mouth drop when I’m asked to do a whole bunch of design work for some miniscule price or “just as a favor.”

But if you want a unique and high quality design, you certainly will get what you pay for, in my opinion.

    It’s not just design.
It’s also all other aspects ….

Mostly it’s those who have never had to create a design from scratch. Modifying existing themes is one thing, but to design & develop something from scratch takes time. I’m going on week 6 (part time) on the development of my theme. It’s time consuming, painstaking and labor intensive. $20/hr is cheap for this kind of stuff. The going rate I’ve seen and quoted is $50/hr. It also depends on if graphics are to be included in the deal.

Plus for php guys are entitled to charge programming rates.
