• Since upgrading to 3.1, in the Network Admin page, I can see the list of sites and list of users. But I can’t search either of those lists as I used to.

Even when searching for something (a username or a site name) that I know is there (I can see it right in the list), the search function returns no results.

With close to 1700 users and 1900 sites, I don’t want to have to look through every page to find the exact one I need to get. Anyone else experiencing problems with this function?

  • Kevin, I have your same problem as well (search doesn’t work at all for sites). I haven’t had the time to look further and see whether there’s a ticket in Trac, etc.

I doesn’t work for me either, the site search. I don’t understand what it searches for? The domain? If I have a site with domain “www.example.org” it doesn’t work if I type in the box any of:

www .example. org (anti auto link)
    example.org
    example

It works fine for me on all sites.

    Site Search
You’re not searching for the domain, you’re searching for the sitename. So if your sitename is ‘camels’, you can search for ‘cam*’ and get ‘camels’, and ‘camisoles’ listed ??

Searching for titles, doesn’t work for me either.

If a blog is titled “Example Blog”, searching for “Exam” or “Exam*” or “Exam%”, doesn’t return any results ??

@drlightman: The site search works for me, on multiple installs, just as Ipstenu pointed out. Do you have any mu-plugins or network activated plugins that may be interfering?

Okay, what’s the blog NAME, not the title, the NAME.

Like ‘camels’ is titled ‘meals on camels’ and ‘camisoles’ is ‘Shirts I live in!’

Would it be possible to search again users using their email address in future versions or should I install a version before 3.1 again?

You can still search by email. You can’t search by *@gmail.com but [email protected] works fine.

Sorry but I don’t understand what are you asking me.

Under Settings>General>’Site Title’ of my domain mapped “awesomeblog” to www/.awesomeblog/.com I put “Awesome blog”.

Now if I search for “awesome” from my/.mainsite/.com/wp-admin/network/sites.php, I don’t see any results.

I run WP 3.1.3 network install, with WP Super Cache and other plugins of course, but they shouldn’t interfere with that dashboard function(s), I suppose.
