I don’t know if there’s a way to revert this to previous implementation but I’ll certainly try. The new “feature” of having the plugins list separated into a sequence of pages is a giant leap backward, IMO. The browser will scroll as far as is needed. Why make an arbitrary limit on the number of plugins to display and then generate a navigation icon area to get to where you want to go?

UI design is about ultimate usability. This fails on so many levels. Here’s why:

    • Takes too many clicks and page loads to get to a specific plugin; especially when you don’t know where the page breaks fall
    • If the Devs are really so set on splitting this up (Why? Didn’t need fixing.), we’ve all got enough screen real estate such that having a horizontal line of icons of all available page numbers is definitely possible, instead of X of Y pages and next/end buttons, with no way to jump back two pages
    • I’m informed of now many items there are but not the alpha range each page holds
    • No way to set how many plugins are displayed per page. If only this option were available, problem solved.

    Thanks for considering.

You can change the number of plugins per page, y’know.

Screen Options, same as always. Change “Show on screen” from 20 to whatever. ?? Works on my installs!

(Though if you have more than 60 plugins, I’d start seeing if you can trim ’em down cause they can slow your site down even IF disabled, if they’re not written well.)

Did that. Didn’t stick, at least at first. Wasn’t much point in having a setting that made me set it every time I went in. For whatever reason, now that I’ve bonked it a couple more times, it seems to have learned that I really mean it. Go figure…
