3.0.4 – Still Not Fixed

    So, I turned of Yoast for a few days to wait for the 3.0.4 fix however i’ve installed it and cleared my browsers but i’m still getting the following error:

    Notice: wpseo_pre_analysis_post_content filter/action is deprecated since version WPSEO 3.0! Use javascript instead. in /home/rfladmin/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3406 –

    So I guess I’ll need to turn it off again?

  • We’ve deprecated the filter, as communicated in this post weeks before the 3.0 release.

    Please report the warning to the author of the conflicting plugin or theme, as they’ll have to renew their integration with Yoast SEO.

    So, how do i find out which is the conflicting plugin or theme? All i know is that when i turn Yoast off the problems go away.

    Turned all my plugins off then turned Yoast back on and still had the same error message

    Try with all plugins disabled except Yoast, *and* with a WordPress themes such as Twenty-fifteen activated.

    Yoast SEO in combination with Visual Composer still gives the error here too

    Hi I also confirm the error occurs in conjunction with Vis Composer. At first I only got the first error. Then after I disabled / reenabled VC, it forced me to update and now there are two erors:

    1st)

    and now…
    2nd)

    Notice : add_shortcode_param is deprecated since version 4.4! Use vc_add_shortcode_param instead. in ..public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3406

    If I disable Yoast – #1 goes away; If I reactivate it and I disable VC – they both go away.

    confirming as well, that error message comes up in conjunction with visual composer.

    SUBWAY (by Qode & available from ThemeForest) is one example of many themes that include an old license of Visual Composer that does not allow for updates. That means there won’t be an update coming, so how are all of these folks to resolve the issue? It seems seems premature to blame Visual Composer rather than SEO by Yoast, since the problem first appeared with the latest Yoast update. Am I missing something?

    Difficult situation. The way I see it you have four choices:

    a) Roll back to a previous good version of Yoast SEO such as 2.3.5 either manually or by using the WP Rollback plugin and then wait for a fix from Yoast.

    b) Contact the author of Visual Composer and ask how you can update your version of the plugin when it has been packaged into a theme with no allowance for future updates (e.g. can you buy a license and then upload the new plugin version to your theme directory?).

    c) Explore whether you can buy a license to update your premium theme, making sure that this version includes the updated Visual Composer.

    d) Consider changing to another SEO plugin

    Thanks for the options. I added them to an open support item for theme developer and am awaiting their suggested approach, which might include using their own SEO instead of Yoast.
