• I know there is just so much more one can do with WordPress using plugins.

Are there any plugins that ya’ll use that you just simply couldn’t imagine not having?

    Example:
I love gravatars. I think they bring a personal touch to comments.

Admin Bar by Matt Read is added to every theme I use. I’m able to access my dashboard from the top of any page.

I am falling more inlove with my mini blog. I can post short, simple, but useful tid-bits.

    Anyone else?

  • ALL THE SPAM PLUGINS!! ??

Didn’t we just have this discussion? I already threw in my CG-PowerPack into the list, which provides RSS aggregation, Amazon lists, in-post Inlined dynamic elements (floated amazon links, permalinks, etc.), referrer spam checking/blocking, and new anti-spam plugin — and more (name pages of multi-page article, set ‘sticky’ post order of posts,…).

The only other ‘plugin’ I use outside my PowerPack is Staticize Reloaded (++, I added features… ?? ).

    Plugins I couldn’t live without:

Entity2NCR, to improve validation, specifically in the Comments Feed.
Search Hilite, to highlight search terms when visiting from any popular search engine.
Spam Karma, to combat comment and trackback spam.
Spam Nuker, to recover any Spam Karma false positives (there has been only one so far).
WP-ContactForm, to provide a contact form and hide my email address from spam bots.

We might have David, but I missed it ?? I’m trying to do “something” with my site and I just want to find that “something”

lol I love my own plugins since I write them mostly for myselve or friends ?? And the ImageManager is REALLY REALLY nifty to ??

Besides that I only use the Countdown script to show the time left to important dates ?? very nice also

So far, the ones I use on almost every WP blog I design:

    Customizable Post Listings
    Spam Karma
    EzStatic
    Get Recent Comments
    Iimage Browser

and of course: WP Plugin Manager

Other good ones I use a lot:

    Random Witty Text
    Show on Front Page
    Comment Promoter

(I’m too lazy this morning to link anything…that’s what Google’s for. ;))

I know we had a great thread on this, list our favorite five plugins, but I searched for 20 minutes and can’t find it. Can anyone find it or saved the link?

It’d be nice to link to it from here to help others.

You are a lifesaver. I found a bunch of cool new toys to play with from that thread. Thanks!

There’s also a plugin to show what plugins you have set up on your blog. (PluginsUsed) If more people used that, we’d find even more toys. ??

    Do give the link!

Doh! I was in a hurry last time, probably burning supper. PluginsUsed – a handy plugin to have.
