• Hi Folks,

I can’t get my feeds to display either on my site or via feedburner when I try to burn my feeds there.

I’m seeing this error from Feedburner – The URL you entered does not appear to be a valid feed. We encountered the following problem: Error on line 100: The element type “description” must be terminated by the matching end-tag “</description>”.

Where is this file? This seemed to happen after I updated to 2.8.4 from 2.8.3.

    Thanks for your help!
    Ben

Looks like you’re using some form of popup plugin. Does the message “This will be the only time you see this message, as we hate spam pop-ups as much as you do” ring any bells?

Whatever it is, it is seriously messing up your RSS feed. There’s a whole block of javascript within the first post’s feed output which effectively means that the feed fails at the first post… so to speak…

Brilliant Esmi! That did the trick. disabling the offending plugin brought my feeds back to life. If you don’t mind explaining – how did you find this?

    Thanks,
    Ben

Although your feed wouldn’t display properly, I was able to examine the feed’s source code (which was actually complete) in Firefox. As soon as I spotted the javascript in there, I knew that it was the likely culprit (seen this happen before) and traced it back to your page markup.

Glad to hear that it worked. Ticking the “resolved” box is all that’s left. ??

Done – and thanks for the explanation.

This worked for me too. I had copied some javascript into a post by accident and it was causing my feeds to muck up. Choice
