301 redirecting 404 errors to homepage??

I currently just finished 301 redirecting all pages from my old site to my new site (https://www.greateraustinhomes.com) and am still getting a few 404 errors from a few random pages.

Instead of worrying about it too much, i just placed a code in the 404.php file that 301 redirects all 404’s to home page.

Is this going to cause any more problems or is this good practice?
