301 Redirect

    Hi! I used your plugin and enabled SSL. It successfully changed from Http to https. However, when I ran a scan with sucuri sitecheck with the website that I am developing right now, it says that “Password input field detected on an unencrypted HTTP page. Please use HTTPS protocol to protect login forms: https://mydomain/ ” (why is it still in http?) and also it states that “No redirect from HTTP to HTTPS found. You should redirect your website visitors to the HTTPS version to avoid the “Not Secure” browser warning.” Now, I thought of enabling the 301 redirect in hopes that it may solve this, just to be sure that I understand it right when I enable the 301 redirect, it would put certain rules in my htaccess file, right? So if there happens any error, I would just need to restore my htaccess backup before I enabled the 301 redirect? If I got it wrong I hope you can help me understand and solve my issue. Thank you!     Hi @rosalie23,

    you are correct, enabling the .htaccess redirect will add redirect rules to your .htaccess file. In case anything goes wrong after enabling it, you can restore the .htaccess file backup to fix any issues with the .htaccess redirect. The .htaccess redirect is generally the most reliable redirect, so we do recommend to enable it to see if it resolves your issue.

    Thank you! Although, I wasn’t locked out of my admin and everything is so smooth but when I checked our login and register forms when I try to register a new user it just loads forever and when I log in with an existing user cred, it still loads and nothing happens it doesn’t go directly to the user dashboard.

    Hi @rosalie23,

    do you see an error when registering/logging in? Could you provide us with your site address so we can have a look? You could try to clear all caches the website uses to see if that resolves the issue.

    Hi! I don’t see any error when I try to log in or register it just loads forever until the Recaptcha expires and it still loads. Here’s the site. What happens is when I try to register it just keeps loading and then if login with google, for example, it somehow works but I get redirected to my homepage and sometimes in the user dashboard but it says you need to sign in to access the dashboard but I just did. I went to the backend and saw that the login with google successfully registered a new candidate and what I don’t understand is why the site’s behavior changed as I am new to WordPress development.

    I just tried to register/log out/log in an account and it did work, it did take a while after submitting the registration form but the registration and log in passed and redirected me to the dashboard. It’s possible the login form/plugin you are using takes a long time before the request is being completed, I don’t think this is an SSL related issue but rather an issue with the login form you are using.
