3.0 made my site extremely slow

  • I have a custom WP layout for my site and I just upgraded from 2.9.2 to 3.0. No everything is loading extremely slow, i mean everything, even my admin page takes forever to load. Can someone help me to resolve this. I even tried to re-install 3.0 and it just hangs at “unpacking data”

    I’m having the same exact issues. Luckily, I’ve written a staging script that I run to sync the files and database to another subdomain that I can test before I push live. So my main site is going to stay at the previous version until this is sorted out.

    I just upgraded to 3.0.1 and looks like this upgrade fixed everything. Things load alot faster.

    I’ve got the same issue and it started with 3.0.1. There is something wrong with the install, I just don’t know what.

    It’s taking 60 seconds to load any page public or admin.

    – I deactivated all plugins and it didn’t help.
    – It’s not a theme issue.
    – I deleted all files and re-uploaded.
    – I cleared my browser cache.
    – I’ve cleared my cookies.
    – I’ve run the upgrade script and it says there is nothing to upgrade.
    – I force ran the upgrade script and it didn’t help.

    I think it’s a database issue and am contacting my host. I don’t think it’s WordPress related anymore.

    After contacting the host, they confirmed that it was an issue on their end and fixed it. All better now.

    did they say what the issue was specifically? I am having extremely slow performance and we have done as much as we can do on our end so I am wondering if there is a problem with the host.

    Yes, the host said that one of the other sites on the shared server was using 90% of the MySQL resources on the server, or something like that. So there were very little resources available for the rest of us.

    I am having the SAME EXACT PROBLEM! I wish I NEVER UPDATED my site! It’s BARELY USABLE NOW! WTF!

    How can I go back to the previous version? This is a nightmare!!

    The running of /wp-admin/upgrade.php has now solved this for me twice now, not sure what that page does explicitly, looks rather benign at a casual glance but it does fix the slowness issue on upgrade.
