• I’m thrilled at the prospect of a simpler way of creating custom post types in 3.0. However, I’m still stumped by one problem.

I would like to echo a series of variables in the order they were inputted to a post. For example, I would like to have a list of “Actors” that remains in a specified order and isn’t automatically alphabetized (like tags) or permanently in the same hierarchical order across all posts (like categories).

So, the post for the movie Citizen Kane will list “Orson Welles, Joseph Cotton, Dorothy Comingore, Everett Sloane” while the post for the movie The Third Man will list “Joseph Cotton, Alida Valli, and Orson Welles”.

I’m stumped on how to go about this.

Perhaps I could just create a series of custom taxonomies for “1st actor” “2nd actor” “3rd actor” etc and fill them in that way. But, when a user would click on the name Orson Welles on a post listing him as the “1st actor”, the resulting search page will not list the posts in which Welles was “2nd actor” “3rd actor” etc. [correct me if I’m wrong on this]

    Any suggestions?
