    Hi!
Very new to Woocommerce. Did a fresh install yesterday on a host that I run other shops on and they load pretty ok and quick. But this fresh installed Woocommerce takes 30-90sec or longer to load each page (on rare occasions it takes less than 10). If I open up a settings page, save a new setting or open up my testorder it takes to long to load. Im using wordpress 5.5.1 and I guess latest Woocommerce (installed from wordpress yesterday). I have PHP 7.2.9 and mysql clientvr 5.5.37 and mysql serverversion 5.5.52-MariaDB-cll-lve. I have not changed any php ini settings yet. I just installed and noticed how incredible slow this runs for some reason. My hos is investigating but Im pretty sure they will reply with “all normal on our side”.

Is this a known issue and there is something to tweak to make it run faster?

    Hi there!

That’s definitely not a known issue, the admin should load a lot faster than that. It sounds like you may have a code conflict going on. This kind of problem is usually caused by either a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.
    ?
The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

Its all ”vanilla” meaning I just did basic install. Added 1 product, a tax rate and I use the standard theme. So I havent really added anything that should cause problems. I leaning towards problem with my host but one of my 7 year old opencart shops that run on really old php and mysql runs so much faster than this fresh installed woocommerce shops.

Hey @linusl if this is a fresh install of WordPress and WooCommerce, with no other plugins and using the default Twenty Twenty or Storefront theme then you’ll want to reach out to your host as you mentioned.

Unless there are some issues with your site’s database, there is no reason loading your admin dashboard should take any time. Your host will want to take a look at their PHP error logs and check what bottlenecks are causing this slowdown.

Even on an entry level hosting plan, this shouldn’t happen. So your host should be able to narrow down the source of the problem for you.

I exported the installed woo to another host with elastic 3GB-64GB and it takes half a sec now or less. So problem solved.

    Hey there,

Glad to hear changing hosting providers resolved the problem.

Simple page queries like that should never be intensive on your server. If you find that they are, I’d recommend the steps I mentioned previously.

I’ll mark this thread as resolved now.
