3 Questions Involving Shortcodes & Images

    Hello

    Nice neat clean plugin thank you.

    I have 2 questions please these are not error.

    Shortcodes:
    Is there a shortcode for Featured Listings please as the widget area doesn’t have one as the featured ads don’t display in the Popular Listings widget which is fine as I am happy with the popular widget as is.
    I just would like a shortcode for the featured ads please.

    Reason why shortcode is other than on specific pages I am not a fan of the widget area as they are and use WPBakery page builder as my editor which allows me to map shortcodes into widgets as I please and place them anywhere. I actually tried [directorist_featured_listing] but it didn’t work.

    Having said that if Popular Listings has a compatible shortcode then having that as well would also be great.

    IMAGES:
    Categories) Is it possible to add image icon to the GRID style categories? preferably on the left side within the box/border at say around 100 to 150px square.

    Listings) Is it possible for a listing to have an OPTION to the Authur to choose either from
    1.generate an image directly from the URL provided within the listing
    2. Upload own image

    RIBBONS:

    This current ribbons for NEW & FEATURED are displayed in two places on the ads.
    1) on the ads individual page displayed area where these 2 ribbons are beside the star rating and category title which is fine as it looks OK. Having them displayed above that and a little bigger by say twice the size would be nicer.
    But that’s just for my own opinion based on my theme/design.
    2) in in the all listing page, search results page. There these tiny ribbons are displayed far higher than the listings title making it cover the images edging and in this case part of the wording within this image. Not to forget it makes the ad look horrible the way it is.
    If these ribbons could be displayed between the title and star rating image displayed or as 2 equally sized ribbons directly sitting above the image making them the same width as the image when 1 ribbon is displayed and a 50/50 when both are displayed.
    Then either do appear the image height it’s self is reduced allowing the same display area for the whole ad so their is no distortion in sizes between featured and non featured ads when displayed on the same page.

    Can you help with making all this happen please and let us know.

    I have added a link to the pages in question which will display the category for the requested images and if you could click on the ad within the category you will see the rest.

    Hello aazztech people

    Is there no one that can help with these questions or know how to implement them please?
    After looking at a lot of other directory plugins I stayed with yours because it looks nice and clean but if no support is given to questions/issues then what is the point of continuing with it and more so the encouragement in getting the any pro version.

    Even a no we can’t help is better than being ignored.

    Thanks for your post and sorry for the delay.

    Shortcode:
    Please update to the latest version of the plugin. We have added two new parameters called ‘featured_only’ and ‘popular_only’ to [directorist_all_listing] shortcode. You can use them like this [directorist_all_listing featured_only=’yes’] and [directorist_all_listing popular_only=’yes’].

    Images:
    Categories- We have noted your suggestion, will seriously consider.
    Listings- We have also noted it, will seriously consider.
    We have a long list of urgent features/extensions to release, so it would take some time to reach your requested features.

    RIBBONS:
    1) Thanks for your opinion, we really appreciate it. We took the decision after a lot of research and thinking.
    2) The bottom part of the preview image has a white background which made it look far higher than the listings title and bit odd. To understand it more clearly, please check one of a demos of the plugin.
    In your situation, you are probably right about ribbons positioning, but again our experienced UI/UX designer took the decisions after a lot of thinking and discussion with the developers. We took each design related decision considering several things. But, as its a free plugin, you are free to customize it according to your need.
