Everything was fine until the following plugins got updated:

    – Templateberg – Gutenberg Templates Library (from version 1.0.3 to 1.1.0)
    – WCFM – WooCommerce Frontend Manager (from version 6.5.9 to 6.5.10)
    – WooCommerce (from version 5.5.1 to 5.5.2)

I have been running the Biz News theme which is a child of Agency Starter.
Now the Agency Starter is the active theme–and I made no change manually–. To make matters worse, I can use every method I know to activate Biz News, but that will not work, even though every mechanism I use says that Biz News is active. I installed the Woo Commerce storefront theme and was able to successfully activate it. Once I did that, I deleted Biz News and Agency Starter and re-added them to see if something may have gotten corrupted in either of those themes, made no difference.

I have restored my site back to before these plugins were updated, but the auto-update quickly returned the site back to Agency Starter only. I am open to any suggestions anyone else may have.

Whatever happened, I installed a completely different theme and activated it. I then proceeded to work on customizing it. After some time, I re-installed Biz News which automatically installed Agency Starter. I decided to switch back to Biz News, and this time Biz News became the active theme again.

Not sure WHAT the issue was or what fixed it, but this is no longer a problem, my site is, mostly, back to where it was before all this started. Some footer widgets are missing, but I can easily recreate them.
