3 most recent posts, each with a different image

I am working on a blog and have a question. If you look at the blog here: https://www.stevenseppinni.com and take a look at the 3 most recent posts, there is an image on the left side of each post. My boss wants each of those images to be different. For example: The most recent post will always display image 1. The second most recent post will always display image 2. The third most recent post will always display image 3. These images will not change when new posts are added.

Is this possible and if so, how do I do it?
