3 months of Posts and Media Library missing!

  • I got up today and found that all my posts since February have vanished! They have gone from my dashboard too. I then checked my media library – it’s completely gone!!

    I checked and saw my wordpress was due for an upgrade – so I did this (I had some issues logging in a few months back and an update apparently fixed it) but there is no change.

    What has happened?! This a a MAJOR problem!

    An update to WP would not delete posts. Did you restore from an old backkup? Did your host?

    Hi Steve.

    Thanks for getting back. The posts disappeared before I updated. When I said that I was hoping that the update may have resolved the issue but it has not.

    I haven’t restored the site from a backup. This has come completely out of the blue. I’ve been posting to my site every few days as normal. I was about to post today and this happened. Is it possible to restore from an earlier date?

    When I go to the media library the page is literally blank. It’s very weird. I see no images at all. There are obviously some there because the site is displaying them.

    Also when I go to the posts page on the dashboard the months March, April and May are missing from the drop-down. How is that possible?

    I am currently on hold with my host – my host did an upgrade but was on the 27 March.

    I got through to my host – apparently it’s on them.

    They say the should be able to fix it in the next 24 hours

    Good luck. Now that you’ve had this experience, take control of your own backups. Install a backup plugin that stores backups offsite and set it to run on some regular (weekly) basis.
