    Actually the two words “MODERATION” and “ONLY” in the name of this plugin are essential. The rest is up to your WordPress settings on the Settings > Discussion admin page:

    E-mail me whenever
    check “Anyone posts a comment”
    check “A comment is held for moderation”

    If your WP installation is not sending any mails, there is something else going wrong. Verify if sending e-mails via PHP is at all possible on your hosting environment. If not, as SMTP plugin might be helpful to send mails via an external mail account.
