    Hi Shreyans,

Thank you for sharing a video for explaining the issue.

    1) Merge tag is not working on the subject:

In our Abandoned Cart lite plugin, it is not possible to use merge tag in the subject. merge tag will not be replaced with the customer name in the subject.

I have added the merge tag {{customer.fullname}} in the subject and saved it. And then I am able to receive test email from our plugin.

    Please see the screenshot: https://www.screencast.com/t/g5HITXjG33

    2) Emoji issue:

For the subject of the Email, you need to enter the symbol code of emoticons in the “Subject” field of email template.

    Please see the screenshot: https://prntscr.com/fxh9dv

Once you entered the symbol code in the subject, save the changes and then try to send the test email and abandoned cart reminder email.

The symbol code will be converted into emoji in the subject of the email.

    Please check this screenshot: https://prntscr.com/fxh9vq

    3) From Email Address issue:

I have sent the test email from the email template of our plugin. And I have received it. I have checked that “From Email” is the same which I have set in the setting.

See the screenshot of the email: https://www.screencast.com/t/aC1DT5h0U

See the screenshot of setting: https://www.screencast.com/t/fWpKfAtvYZr4

Can you please let me know you are using SMTP plugin on your site?

    Let me know.

    Thanks for the reply Chetna,

Yes, I do use SMTP plugin but that setting should override the default SMTP email.

No clue why but I added “U+1F622” as the emoji code in subj. but the same code only reflected in email instead of the actual emoji.

Please make merge tag compatible in subject, adding customer name in it will definitely increase open rates.

    Hi,

    >> Yes, I do use SMTP plugin but that setting should override the default SMTP email.

Do you mean by that the “From Email” address should come from our plugin’s setting in the email notification whether the SMTP plugin is activated or not?

    Emoji issue:

“U+1F622” is the Unicode Code Point. So it cannot covert to the emoji. You would need to add symbol code of emoji ( Like for crying face, ) or you can use HTML Entity (Hexadecimal) of emoticons ( For crying face: “😢” ) in the subject.

After adding that please save the template and try to send an email.

For adding merge tag in the email.

    Thank you for your suggestion.

Currently, we do not have planned to add this feature in the LITE version. As it is available in the PRO version. We are providing two merge tags {{customer.firstname}} or {{product.name}} to include the Customer First Name and Product name to the Subject Line.

Let me know if you have any question with this.

    Hi,

In my previous post, HTML Entity (Hexadecimal) of emoticons is converting to the emoji. So I am attaching the screenshot for your reference.

    Yes, Totally!

    Hi,

Yes, you are right. It should come from our plugin’s setting.

But if the From Email Address option is present in the WP SMTP plugin, it is difficult to overwrite the FROM Email Address as all emails will be sent from SMTP plugin.

Still, I will look into it and check that whether it can be overrides or not.

Let me know if you have any further queries with our plugin.

    Regards,
    Chetna Bhutka
