3.7.5 conflict with The7 theme?

  • Hi,

    My client is running a theme called The7. Installing the latest update (3.7.5) causes the home page to break: https://speedboost-pei.pantheonsite.io

    It doesn’t look like any of the settings changed, aside from what got removed in the latest version. It seems to be related to Javascript somehow, but I’m not sure how to fix it.

    The site is running WordPress 5.1.1 and all the other plugins are up-to-date. Thanks!

    Hi, have you tried version 3.7.6? Also can you test one of WordPress default themes like Twenty Seventeen? This is just for testing purposes. If it works with WordPress default theme, then you know it is your theme causing this issue.

    Oops, it’s actually 3.7.6 that breaks the site.

    I know the issue is a conflict with the theme–the back-end is fine. I’m just not sure what could have changed in 3.7.6 that would affect the theme.

    Are you saying that a previous version of our plugin used to work with your theme but the latest version doesn’t?

    Hi,

    That’s correct. 3.7.5 worked just fine. When I updated to 3.7.6, the margins on the theme broke: https://speedboost-pei.pantheonsite.io/

    Hi, can you deactivate all the features in the plugin settings. Then make sure there is no issue. Once you can confirm this, start activating the features one at a time. Checking to make sure that every time you activate one feature there is no issue. Carry out this action until you find out the culprit feature.

    I tried deactivating everything in the plugin but I still saw the issue on the home page. When I deactivated plugin, however, the home page was fixed again.

    Hi, it looks like there might be a conflict somewhere between the latest version of our plugin and your theme. My recommendation is to go back to the previous version until this is fixed. The plugin developers will investigate further this issue.

    Yes, that’s what I was thinking. I’ll wait for the next update–hopefully that will include a fix.
