3.16.3 Update = Broken Course Builder

    After updating to 3.16.3 the Course Builder will not show up, just a blank white page. I have cleared cache, tried different browsers, tried creating a test course and every time is the same, no course builder.

    I reverted back to 3.16.2 and the course builder appeared but would not save any changes.

    Please help!

    I’m very sorry. I’m learning that many hosts block the use of the WordPress heartbeat on admin pages that aren’t explicitly whitelisted.

    I’ve found a solution on WP Engine but I need to know what hosts are doing this so I can find solutions on a per-host basis…

    If you can let me know who your hosting provider is I’ll start researching potential solutions for you host.

    You can also reach out to your webhost directly and ask them to unblock the use of the WordPress heartbeat API on the course builder page.

    I am very sorry about this. This is a WordPress core API that as a plugin developer I have every right to use. Hosts seem to really dislike the Heartbeat API and I can understand that but it leaves me (and you, the user) in a very difficult position…

    Please let me know about anything that you can find so I can work out a solution to the best of my ability,

    Hi, I’m having the same issue with 3.15.5 and WP 4.9.4. No Course Builder – blank page. Has anyone found a solution?

    As Thomas said, it seems to be an issue with Heartbeat. I modified per this article: https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/wordpress/limit-heartbeat/#How_to_Limit_Heartbeat and Course Builder now launches. I’ll be back with an update if I run into any other issues.

    Latest update removes dependency on the heartbeat, for what it’s worth. You can disable heartbeat and still use the builder now.
