• HOW ON EARTH did Elementor 3.0 get through testing?? I installed the update as soon as it popped in, as I always do, as I’ve never had a problem with Elementor updates before. But this one is a doozy!

As soon as I updated, erratic things started happening to my pages, even as I browsed them. Let me say first off that rolling back to the previous installation DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM! The arratic changes were not just in the appearance of the pages but were applied to them when opened, meaning that the damage was done to pages and remained, even after rollback.

    Examples include:

    1. Duplicate menus added to admin dashboard under Elementor and Template. For example, ‘Theme Builder’ under Templates was entered twice: if you clicked on the first one, you got the older theme builder content but if you clicked on the second one, it showed the shiny new theme builder interface but with everything greyed out, with the message over them saying “Get Pro” EVEN THOUGHT ELEMENTOR PRO IS INSTALLED AND ACTIVE!

    2. Header (created in Elementor Pro and used with Hello theme) changed object positions, with content including menus aligning to the very top edge of screen (even though margin settings were still there!). The BIG claim of Elementor is that updates will not change your existing work if you stick with Elementor and Hello.

    3. Manually-set colour assignments to various text boxes and headings reverted to default colours, even though the assigned colours were still there in the object settings. THIS WAS RANDOM: some header and text objects were fine, some not. No differences between them that I could see.

    4. Background colours to objects (used when placed on pages with background image) were set to clear, revealing the background image fully and making pages unreadable. Again random. My user’s login box was set to clear, while my Password Reset box was not – even though they were both based on the same template!

    5. SOME columns reverted to default margin settings, even though manual settings were still there.

I’m sure there was a lot more happening but at this stage, as I found myself having to wade through page after page to correct settings that had been fine previously, I rolled back the installation only to find that the DAMAGE HAD BEEN WRITTEN TO THE PAGES, meaning that the problems remained. Thankfully, I was able to restore backup pages but I had then lost the work I had created that day.

A stony silence from Elementor when I submitted a ticket. What is happening Elementor? This is a mess.

EVEN THOUGHT ELEMENTOR PRO IS INSTALLED AND ACTIVE!

I am sorry you and others are having problems with this plugin and the “pro” version but as you are complaining about the pro version, as you need support for the interaction with the pro version, do not seek support for Elementor on this site. That’s not permitted for anyone and Elementor is not an exception to that.

For pro or commercial product support please contact the developer directly on their site. This includes any pre-sales topics as well.

As the developer is aware, commercial products are not supported in these forums. I am sure they will have no problem supporting you there.
