3.0 Issues: pagination, terms & conditions
-
When looking at products sorted by category, pagination is listing hundreds of pages (saying 5000+ products). I have this many products but not this many in stock. I have the box checked to “hide out of stock products”. It isn’t displaying the products, but it is creating pages for them.
The box for terms & conditions on check out will not allow it to be checked. Had to remove it from the site to be able to accept orders.
This is with Storefront theme
-
I also found, when duplicating products, it doesn’t change the time of publish now. So new items end up down in the list. Not sure if it is related.
Just tried to do the 3.0.1 update and it failed.
Do it manually then. Upload via FTP. It fixes the publish date on dupe issue.
Update done. I also tried disabling all plugins to see if the page error went away. No go, still there.
Screenshot?
Here is a link to my site. This is page 40, which is one of the MANY blank pages. You can see how it is showing xxxx of xxxx many products. Page after page of blank, just some random (in stock) ones that happen to be in stock floating around, depending when they were added.
https://www.pintailwaterfowl.com/shop/page/40/The update DID fix the error and I believe the timestamp while duplicating.
Also, my system status:

Hi,
I had a similar problem with pagination. It was caused by a snippet in my functions.php based on this: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/exclude-a-category-from-the-shop-page/.
After removing the snippet the pagination was ok again. So please check if one of your plugins has similar filtering functionality and might cause this issue. Good luck!

Looks like the initial data upgrade may have failed or timed out. How many products in total?
Assuming this isn’t due to a bad plugin or customisation, this could be ran again manually https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/blob/master/includes/wc-update-functions.php#L1040
If you were able to export (tools > Export) the products I could (or you could) check if the product_visibility term outofstock was applied to your products correctly before running that updater again.
But yeah, ensure it’s not custom code first.
Have 5058 products in the store. Most are out of stock. We leave then in case we ever add that color again (which wwe do regularly).
I tried removing all info from my child themes functions.php file. No change.
Tried exporting products DB. Froze site. Had to kill processes.
Looked in php myAdmin. Didn’t see any table related to product_visability but I did find this: _stock_status outofstock.
I added this to my functions.php
if ( ! empty( $_GET[‘wc_update_300_product_visibility’] ) ) {
wc_update_300_product_visibility();
}then went to mysite.com?wc_update_300_product_visibility=true but just got an error.
product_visability is not a table, is a taxonomy. Look at the wp_terms table and see if the terms are linked to products.
What was the error? Ensure there are no curly quotes in the code you added as that would be invalid syntax.
I put the code is exactly as I wrote it. Error was: Fatal error: Call to undefined function wc_update_300_product_visibility() in /home/typecxxk/public_html/pintailwaterfowl/wp-content/themes/storefront-child/functions.php on line 109
Here is a screen shot of the table wp_term_taxonomy
I’m guessing id 115 is “in stock” and is 116 is “out of stock”
There is not in stock filter.
if ( ! empty( $_GET[‘wc_update_300_product_visibility’] ) ) { global $wpdb; if ( $outofstock_term = get_term_by( 'name', 'outofstock', 'product_visibility' ) ) { $wpdb->query( $wpdb->prepare( "INSERT IGNORE INTO {$wpdb->term_relationships} SELECT post_id, %d, 0 FROM {$wpdb->postmeta} WHERE meta_key = '_stock_status' AND meta_value = 'outofstock';", $outofstock_term->term_taxonomy_id ) ); } }
I added the above code to functions.php
Went to https://www.pintailwaterfowl.com/?wc_update_300_product_visibility=true
Nothing happened or changed.
Sorry, im not a programmer at all, just a front end guy.
Ok let’s try something else. Note the pagination results count.
Make one of your instock products out of stock. Does the count reduce?
If yes, it’s term data related.
If no, as suggested by someone above its code. I don’t know if you tried another theme but do a quick test with a default theme.
