  • The problem is likely with the use of an ampersand in the title. The ampersand is a special character, and to the underlying code, it has special meaning.

It’s possible to code around this, but it would likely involve editing some core WP or NGG files in a way that might have second- or third-order effects.

The easier option is to just use “and” in lieu of “&” in your titles.

That makes sense. Will changing it to ‘and’ and then resaving permalinks fix the issue?

Theoretically, all you should have to do is change the post title and hit “Update”.

Nope – that doesn’t work. See here: https://eventsbyjessyca.com/gallery/weddings/

Check the url for the gallery with B&W cover (Carly and Andrew). Changing the gallery name did not affect the URL at all, it still has the ampersand in it.

@postmastergs – Thanks for trying to help here!

@echoleaf – Please try re-inserting the gallery now that you have renamed it … the issue with using an & character is most likely at the root of this issue although just changing the title may not correct all of the underlying references to the original title.

    Thanks!

Not sure what you mean by ‘re-inserting the gallery’?

@echoleaf – Re-inserting the gallery would mean removing it from the page/post it has been inserted into; updating the page/post; then re-inserting/adding it to the page/post.

Essentially replace the current inserted display with itself (or more correctly the updated gallery you modified).

    Thanks!

That didn’t work, likely because the page contains an Album. The galleries are all in 3 albums. What next? If the galleries’ urls could be updated that would probably fix it.

@echoleaf – If the galleries are part of albums you may need to recreate those albums then replace the current albums with the newly created one. You could try just replacing the galleries that have had their names changed although it is generally best to just replace the entire album as needed.

Thanks, and our apologies for the inconveniences this is causing.

    Unfortunately, that didn’t work.

@echoleaf – Please send us a Bug Report (https://imagely.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can get a better look under the page at your site.

Please include as many details as you can about your site and the issue at hand so we can move on this as fast as possible.

    Thanks!
