• This is probably a stupid question, but I just can’t find the answer anywhere! I have created a 2nd Admin for my blog, and given him a username/password, email address, etc. The problem is: when he tries to log in to Site Admin, it gives the error message: Incorrect Password.

I see that he exists with the correct password when I click on the Users tab in Site Admin. I even went into phpMyAdmin and manually input the right password, and he is still unable to log in.

He’s tried using both the password I grant him and the password I use, and neither has any luck.

Does anyone have any clue what’s going on? I am a huge WordPress newbie, so please excuse my ignorance…

  • I may be wrong but the password that gets stored in the mysql database gets hashed (ie. encoded) so putting it in there unhashed won’t work ,– correct me if I am wrong.

Try making a new user again an see if it works.

Thank you for your help, mrkingid! I made a few new users in a row, and one of them finally worked. I can’t figure out what is different about the ones that work vs. the ones that don’t work, but the end result is all I’m interested in! Thanks for your quick response. ??
