• Is there a way I can use Zapier and still have my site protected with 2FA security? It will not allow me to authenticate. The Live Traffic is showing multiple failed logins where I have tried to get it to authenticate. I created the password with the Application Password Feature. The Zapier logs indicate the problem is with 2FA. The Zapier Plugin Docs say to whitelist the Zapier Plugin API Endpoints. Will that solve the problem and if so – where do I put those in Wordfence? I am primarily trying to connect orders placed in WooCommerce with my Email Provider. Can I just do the one endpoint for orders? Thank you for your help!

  • Hello – I’m having the same issues when I tried all of the options mentioned above for workarounds. So would be keen to hear if there has been any success.

I too am having this issue. No problem when Wordfence is disabled, but immediately the connection fails as soon as it is enabled and a new admin user without 2FA doesnt solve the issue.

I am having the same issue.

Can you please add a URL-based whitelist option so we can whitelist the REST API endpoints.

I am having a similar issue but here is what I’ve found. Not sure if this whole whitelisting thing is relevant given it seems to be an authentication issue.

    • Zapier authentication is blocked when connected account is using 2FA
    • Zapier authentication is blocked by using reCaptcha via Wordfence.
    • Zapier tries to authenticate when you are changing or adding zaps using this connection. If you have both options disabled when you are making these changes everything should work just fine.
    • Until this issue is resolved, if you want to use 2FA you need to set up your Zapier connection using a wordpress account that doesn’t have it enabled
    • Until this issue is resolved you need to temporarily disable recaptcha when making changes or creating new zaps.

edit: also just to add 2FA blocks the connection even if using the app password

I was able to temporarily solve this by deactivating WordFence connecting to Zapier and then reactivating WordFence. The zaps continue to work, at least for now. It seems like it is the initial connection that wasn’t working while wordfence was activated

    Hi everyone,

I’m pleased to say that we have just released a new version of WooCommerce Zapier.

Version 2.3 improves compatibility with Wordfence Security’s two-factor authentication mechanism.
