I’m trying to set up 2FA on multiple sites, but when I try and add a 2nd site using the LastPass Authenticator app it throws an error– Replace existing Account, if I do this then it removes the current site that I do have set up and I’m back to square 1.

I’m not sure if its a bug as such and if it lies with Defender or Even LastPass, but just thought I’d make you aware of the issue.

    Nick

    Hello @nickw10 !

    Apologies for the inconvenience here!

I’ve tried to replicate this issue on my test sites, but wasn’t able – in my case the app added both sites without any issues.

I tried to see if it works with the same admin email because I saw it says “added [email] account”, but it still worked as well and recognised the sites as different ones.

Can you try again and let us know if the issue is still there? Please also see if you can spot anything that would be odd and let us know, maybe there’s something specific to your setup which makes this issue happen.

    Warm regards,
    Pawel

Ok, I’ve tried again and I’m getting this as an error, I do now have three sites though that work, I managed to get 1 to work by adding a 1 to the end of my email address….perhaps that’s broke it ??

Not sure if this helps a all?

    Hello @nickw10 !

Thank you for the additional details!

We tried this again on our end – my test was still the same as previously. My colleague also tested on his sites and was able to add two sites without any issues.

However, maybe it’s due to this setting? https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/defender/#app-title

If that doesn’t work, maybe the email is a clue here still, but I’m not an user of the app on a daily basis and I think the LastPass support could have a look here as well. I think it’s something with the app’s logic in this case.

    Warm regards,
    Pawel

Thanks for letting me know, I’ll raise a support ticket with LastPass and see where that goes, do you want to leave this open so I can update it if I get a response?

So, it turns out the issue was an old account in my authenticator app. I managed to fix it by allowing the replacement when Authenticator asked me to replace existing or add as new, I chose replace existing and then noticed one of my other accounts had been removed.

I added that one back in and since then I’ve had no issues, I have been updating the app name though too, which if nothing else means I can easily see in Authenticator which site is which ??
