    Hello, everyone. ??

I’m encountering an issue with 2FA on my WordPress multisite network. While I’ve successfully allowlisted my IP address on the primary blog to bypass 2FA for my admin account, the child sites are still requiring 2FA codes for login, even when using my superadmin credentials.

Hi @slumbum, thanks for getting in touch about this.

Allowlisting by IP should work across subsites on a multisite. Your issue may suggest that allowlisting by IP is not actually working, or if it’s working on the main site, there’s something different about the subsites that’s causing an IP detection problem.

As a test, it might be worth enabling the “ALL TRAFFIC” toggle in Live Traffic, visiting the main site and subsites a few times in a private browser, then checking the IPs that appear for each hit in your Live Traffic feed.

If your site has a lot of traffic, visiting a non-existent page that would be logged as a 404 in Live Traffic may be easiest, so that the hits stand out. Then, you can use the advanced filters to search for it. Choose “URL” and the “contains” operator, then enter the path that was used such as mainsite.com/404-test and subsite.com/404-test.

Let us know if the IPs detected seem to differ or you make any other observations during this time.

    Thanks,
    Peter.
