Will not show threads by default? Any ideas?

I just installed p2. Worked good. It showed the threads by default originally, i’m pretty sure.
I did some messing around in the header to put in a logo. I changed the post message to Que pasa? I removed the credit in the footer. I changed the ‘show thread’ to ‘show discussion’. I did some other loose ends too.
I removed some unneeded plugins.
Then somewhere along the line, yesterday, it stopped showing the threads by default. I want the threads to be shown by default.
So, i undid everything i did. didn’t work. i uninstalled the theme, and reinstalled. didn’t work.
I am completely clueless why it is not showing the threads by default.
