2.9 Upgrade – Can’t get into wp-admin now

  • I just pressed the upgrade to 2.9 button, and then I get this message, as well as any other time trying to get back into wordpress admin.

    Anyone else had the same issue or able to help me resolve this? Can’t get into my site now. Thanks.

    Delete all your browser cookies, re-upload the files via FTP, and try again. You may also need to rename your plugins folder to forcibly turn off your plugins.

    For any further readers:
    This issue was not a wordpress issue, but a compatability issue with the latest version of the Headway theme. The fix was to temporarily remove the theme’s folder from themes (just moved it to the root directory), then trying to access wp-admin again. It should now work, finish upgrading the database to 2.9, then move the theme’s folder back into the theme directory and you should be good to go.
