2.8.2 and IG:Syntax Hiliter plugin problem

I did an automatic upgrade to 2.8.2 yesterday, and immediately started getting intermittent “500 Internal Server Error” results on accesses to my site and especially admin pages.

If I rename the “plugins” directory, the pages serve OK.

I rooted through the plugins directory, then de-activated everything and started activating plugins one by one and doing some accesses in between to check function.

When I got to my IG:Syntax Hiliter plugin v.3.5, the errors started happening again.

I’d really hate to have to go back through my posts and re-do the code display for every time I’ve used this plugin. Does anyone have some insight as to why 2.8.1 worked fine with this, and 2.8.2 does not?
