2.7.4 brings my whole side down for minutes and gives me a 500 server error

Hey Angelos,

The upgrade from 2.7.3 to 2.7.4 is a really minor update…

I just added some backsticks to the database name in some queries.
So I don’t see how that has to do with the perfomance.

For my own websites (10+) it all works fine.

Any relevant lines in your WP error log file?

A whole lot of lines, just from a single run (part of these are in Greek, because I have installed the Greek language for WordPress. Σφ?λμα means error, β?ση? δεδομ?νων means database, α?τηση means query)

None of the messages are related to my plugin…

Looks like some other plugin is causing the problems.

OK, I tried disabling every other plugin.

Now, my site won’t go down with a 500 error, but the plugin still takes a really long time to run, whereas up to the last version it run in mere seconds.

Can you send me the 2.7.3 version to install, to compare the code and see if maybe I can figure out what causes this?

Also, the plugin just timed out on me with a 500 server error, the server timed out before it could finish.

Was some query that for some weird reason totally brought down the performance.
I thought it would speed it up but apparently did the opposite…
