2.6- save not working

  • After writing 40+ posts, I am stuck. When I try to write a new post, autosave works halfway through, and then forever hangs. When I finish the post and press save button, the server responds with a 404, claiming post.php does not exist. Any suggestions where I should look? Though, I do not code, I am good at editing all sorts of files.

    I should add that I have checked the database tables if there is a hidden plug-in, none exists.

    Edit: I can only save exactly 239 words. Save button will give a 404 error if I added the 240th word. Has anyone noticed similar problems?

    Edit: The culprit seems to be the “more” tag. Apparently WordPress has a setting where a minimum number of characters or words or height must be satisfied before splitting the page. After writing a few more sentences before “more”, situation is corrected itself. I am fairly new to WordPress and maybe did not search properly in the forum. I will do another search now.
