    I installed 2.6 the other day and ever since, my blog has been taking 30-60 seconds to load… on the site itself and in the WP admin. pages.

    Is there something going on that I need to change? I tried deactivating all plugins and that didn’t seem to matter.

    Can someone help me on this? I’ve read other forum enquiries and they deal with specific plugins – none of which I am using.

    I even tried the turbo link at the top right of the admin. pages, and installed Google Gears – that didn’t help anything. I even have my provider looking into this.

    Could you please let me know what you think this is all about?

    Thank you.

  • I am having the same problem. However, I wanted to add that on one domain I had wordpress 2.7.1 installed. This installation was running the default theme and had no plugins, no posts, no comments, and no other scripts. Nothing. The admin panel was taking 5 minutes or more to login and all admin pages loading slowly. Since I had nothing to lose, I deleted the installation and did a fresh Fantastico intall and the site loads normally and continues to do so. Of course, right now it is just a test site, but it continues to load normally.

    Also, on another domain with about 70 posts, this problem started occuring about 5 days ago. I reinstalled the blog on different hosting and the problem remains. I do notice that my error log shows many errors. Unfortunately, I don’t really understand what its telling me. Here is an excerpt–perhaps it will help:

    LIMIT 5
    made by require, require_once, include, the_content, apply_filters, call_user_func_array, ddop_generate, ddop_show_posts
    [10-May-2009 12:11:23] WordPress database error Table ‘prefix_wrdp1z.wp_post2cat’ doesn’t exist for query
    SELECT DISTINCT ID, post_title, post_date, post_category
    FROM wp_posts, wp_post2cat
    WHERE category_id = 51
    AND wp_posts.ID = wp_post2cat.post_id
    AND ID != 80
    AND post_status = ‘publish’

    Thanks,
    Evan
