2.5.1 – categories fatal error & comments off

    If i go to write a new blog post, under the category section, i am receiving this fatal error:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp_category_checklist() in …public_html/blog/wp-admin/edit-form-advanced.php on line 244

    If i even try clicking on ‘most used’ categories, if i select one and save, it’s still not updating it to add that category. Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

    It is also defaulting comments to be turned off. How do i change that as well? I’ve looked at other support things but i am not finding my answer. The discussion section is set to allow comments and i’m not finding an advanced option section on the edit post page where i can edit comments showing either. Maybe the category error isn’t allowing the remainder of the page to load to see the advanced option? I can’t recall offhand what the page should look like.

    i just downgraded back to 2.5 – i’ll hold off on 2.5.1 for now.
