Hi, thank you for the plugin, I’ve generally been quite happy with it ??

I recently switched my site to use the OAUTH authentication method since UPS removed API keys. Everything had been working fine for the past month then I started getting emails from customers today that no shipping methods were available. In the backend the API status was 250002. Re-authenticating my UPS account solved the issue.

Is there a way to receive an email when there is an API issue? Relying on customers to tell me is unprofessional and checking multiple times a day is silly.

What could have caused the authentication issue and is it preventable? I know you can’t say for certain without logs. But I don’t use a caching plugin like the other form user that had similar issues. Is the OAUTH just something that needs refreshed manually every month? Are there steps I can take to ensure it doesn’t expire?

    Hi @jeffreylegham
Thank you for reaching out to us. I’ll be happy to assist you.

Typically, The error code:250002 indicates there is an issue with the UPS API credentials. In most cases, reauthorizing solves the issue, as in your case. You could also ensure the server time is correctly synchronized with an internet time-server (web hosting). Additionally, you could verify if there are any security plugins or server settings that might be interfering with the API connection.

When it comes to receiving the email, unfortunately, we cannot provide such services. These messages come, directly, from the UPS API. It might be automated, but you should contact directly a UPS Support.

    Kind regards,
    Mateusz

Hi Mateusz, thank you for the quick response!

The site is hosted with ApisCP so there could definitely be some non-standard server settings. What are likely culprits I should look into?

Regarding the notifications, would it be possible to add a hook for API errors so that we can implement our own notification system?

    Hi @jeffreylegham
    Thank you for the message.

As we aren’t the authors of the ApisCP, it would be the best to contact the support from ApisCP to check if the server time is synchronized with an internet time.

It might be possible to add a hook for API errors. Unfortunately, any custom developments are out of scope from our side.

    Kind regards,
