2.5 upgrade.php?step=1&backto= is blank

    Upgradgin to 2.5

    When running upgrade.php and clicking upgrade the next page is blank (a wp logo is present).

    Subsequent login attemmpts is redirected to upgrade.php

    I have the exact same problem; however I don’t get a WP-logo, just a totally blank page when redirecting my browser to the upgrade.php file. Afterwards when trying to log in at the admin back end I end up with a blank page… I’m a bit lost here, as you are.

    I’ve tried to delete and re-upload the wp-admin folder but in vain…

    I had the same problem. The website host discovered that the PHP settings for my blog on the server had safe_mode turned on. Once safe_mode was disabled it worked fine.
