When I try to access my ADMIN section, the content is all there but it’s in TEXT format, strung down the page, no formatting.

The site is <www://jimseybert.com>
I had built it as <www.jimseybert.com/beta_1> and used the instructions in “Changing The Site URL” to delete the ‘beta_1’ and everything works on the public end.

But somehow I messed up the code that tells WP to format the admin/login.

The log-in page is even funky – just rich text.

Can anyone shed some light on what I might have done to cause this?

You’ve definitely messed up the site URL. In your page I see this code:

“../../../beta_1/wp-includes/https://jimseybert.com/wp-admin/css/colors-fresh.css?ver=20081210”

This implies that your site URL and/or blog URL are set wrong. They need to be set to “https://jimseybert.com”.

That’s what I thought I had done with the “Changing the Site URL” instructions.
In fact, the “public side” works fine at https://jimseybert.com.
It’s the admin stuff i can’t get into now.

How can I fix this ?

Otto42 – where did you find that long string of code?

OK – I found the code by looking at the SOURCE on the admin/log-in page.
Yikes – how am I supposed to fix that ??
I am already way over my head as far as coding.
It may be “poetry” to some, but it doesn’t rhyme to me.

I wonder if there isn’t someone I can pay to fix this for me.

That string comes directly from the site URL settings. So I think you changed those settings incorrectly, somehow. You need to take another look, and see if they are correct.

I know this is a bit stale, but the same thing is happening to me. Did anyone find a solution to this?
