Hi! I just updated from 2311 to 2402.1 and found that the [toc] shortcodes I’ve manually added to posts display twice on the front end (looked fine in the editor – shortcodes are in the Shortcode Block). I rolled back to 2311. Any thoughts on what might be causing this and how to fix it? It is not auto-inserting on any pages where I haven’t added the shortcode, but it shows up twice on all pages with the shortcode. And I don’t see anything in the settings to account for this.

    Thanks,
    Sarah

We are experiencing the same issue. After updating to 2402.1 the TOCs are showing twice. We use the shortcode to add them to our posts. Rolling back to 2311 resolved the issue. Please update us when the issue is resolved.

    Thanks!

I tested 2402.1 again and have more details to report.

TOC appears to display fine if inserting a shortcode on a regular post. But I only use it on custom post types, and that’s where the problems occurs for me.

As of this latest release, TOC is auto-inserted on any custom post type where I add the TOC shortcode. I have all options unchecked in Settings > “Auto insert for the following content types” so it shouldn’t auto-insert anywhere. But the TOC still gets inserted twice, once where I added it manually via [toc] and a second time according to Settings > Position.

I have updated to the latest version (2406), and I can confirm that the issue persists:
The Table of Contents is auto-inserted into my custom post type posts despite these being unchecked under “Auto insert for the following content types” in the settings.

This problem still exists. When [toc] is put, then the contents comes out twice. When is removed, there is no contents at all.

Is there any way to have only one contents on the page? ??
