Upgraded Smush to 2.2.1 and now I can’t access my Yoast SEO settings. Confirmed it’s Smush as deactivating the plugin allows Yoast to work now. Deleted and reinstalled the plugin no affect. Also cleared all cache.

Additionally, can’t seem to save any settings under Smush it.

    Please help!

  • Hey @evilhidden,

Can you try the version 2.2.2 and see if everything works out properly.

There are some fixes for JS and plugin conflicts.

    Cheers

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I upgraded the plugin to 2.2.2. Unfortunately, I still have the same issue with Yoast and with Smush.

Yoast settings do not appear and the icon becomes black. Also, pressing the “Smush” button has no affect.

    Hi @evilhidden,

Are you familiar with WordPress debug/error log?

What version of Yoast SEO you’re on? It works for me with Yoast: 3.1.2, Smush: 2.2.2 WordPress 4.5

    Thanks

    Hi,

Yes. I’m using Yoast: 3.1.2, Smush: 2.2.2, WordPress; 4.5 as you are.

Not sure what the issue is. As soon as I activate Smush I can’t get to the Yoast settings and icon changes – indicative of a problem.

    Thanks for your help.

    Below is my debug log.

    Hi,

Also it appears to affect any JS on the page. For instance, when clicking the X to close the Smush Pro promo it does not work. Not does clicking the Help or Screen Options drop down actually do anything. Turning off Smush resolves all problems.

I went though all my plugins 1 by 1 and Smush is definitely it. I also re-installed WordPress 4.5 for good measure. Same result.

    Hey there,

You can add ?remove_smush_upgrade_notice=1 to the URL and press enter, that’d dismiss the Smush Pro banner

What happens if all other plugins are deactivated and only yoast and smush are active?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Removed the banner via the URL. That seemed to clear everything up. Yoast icon is typical and all setting are accessible. Additionally all other JS elements appear to be working. Thank you.

    @evilhidden, That’s Great!

    I’ll mark this as resolved.

    Cheers
