2.2 upgrade issue at non-english site

  • I have installed wp2.1.3 successfully.

    When I upgraded to 2.2, all the words show like ?????

    Covered the wp-include/wp-db.php at last version, the blog work again.

    There are some matter I should mention.
    I install it under MySQL 4.1 + PHP 4.4.4 + Linux.

    Delete all files and upload again, it still shows ???

    Any advice about this?

  • In your wp-config.php, comment out the line that says:

    define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8’);

    like so:
    //define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8’);

    It helped me.
