Greetings, I’d like to indicate my problems as detailed and possiblem, and hope there’ll be a solution to the problem I’m facing now.

I typed my blog in both English and Japanese. Before updating to 2.2, I was using 2.1.3 (hope I got it right).

It was all along UTF-8 for Encoding for pages and feeds located at option -> Reading.

I’ve also tried the wp-db.php method located at wp-include folder by placing an extra line for UTF-8.
    ———————————————–
It seems like after I update my WP to 2.2, all my japanese character converted to “?”. Even those that I’m currently typing now. I’ve heard about there’s a bug for database, however, I could not find any solutions in relative to that.

I’ve grown desperate trying to find answers but to no avail, I need help ??

    Greetings,

I’d like to answer upon my own question as I’ve found the solutions.

It’s a tedious one, however, you’d need to have an administrator account to access your MySQL database. You’ll need to change the post_content’s Collation to utf8_unicode_ci, under wp_posts (title and etc manually too)

Hello. I am having the same problems and have done as you have said but I can’t seem to save the changes I have made in my phpmyadmin panel. Can you offer some help ?

I am having the same problem, so I followed the instructions in the last post (special note for Fantastico upgrades.)

It says to delete DB_CHARSET and DB_COLLATE from my wp-config.php file, which I did.

Japanese is now displayed properly on my blog, but whenever I try to log out of the admin panel or update a page or post (i.e. click on “save”) I get this error message:

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/—/public_html/—/blog/wp-config.php:42) in /home/—/public_html/—/blog/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 331

(the “—” are my own, not the dir names.)

    Line 331 of pluggable.php is:

    header(“Location: $location”);

Could someone PLEASE tell me how to fix this? It’ s driving me nUtS!!

    Thanks in advance!

    wp-config.php:42

That means line #42. Did you check it for empty/blanks space after the last ?>
as it is adviced in the Codex… (I am sure you’ve searched for the error message, didn’t you?

That’s it?? Do I feel like an idiot ??

Thank you for your help ??
