my side bar is at the bottom of my page and I don’t know how to fix it (or what happened to cause this).
Here is the link to my page.

    Home page

The templates were working fine. I installed and loaded a theme called “Brightness Theme” a couple of days ago, along with several plug in’s. Today I changed the theme and noted that everyone of my themes (all that come with the installation) has the side bar under all the posts.

I disabled all the plug ins and removed all the widgets I had enabled. But with no luck. I’m still learning the coding and not feeling confident that I can find what changed to cause every theme to do this.

Honestly, except for playing with the themes / dashboard area(changing them) I didn’t do anything inside the WP files

Any ideas or thoughts on where I should start looking, or on what happened?

    Thanks

Thank you for the info.. would this effect each and every theme? I’m perplexed at how all the themes are acting in error.
I hate to ask a dumb question.. but what page is it that I need to edit to fix these errors?

would this effect each and every theme?

not usually no. activate another theme, so I can see what that one looks like.

I’ve just activated the Connections theme.. Sidebar at the bottom .. this happens with all the themes in the dashboard

    thanks again

edit– and note that this issue only happens on the home page.. the other pages (if you view a post or a page) the sidebar is where it should be

    theres diff structural errors.

plugins that you are using? if any, disable them. see if that helps. any widgets? disable them.

whats odd is that your single post pages display properly (in that theme, at least). I didnt check the other. (i see you noticed that too; i had the reply window open so I didnt see that edit)

I deactivated all the widgets (was using the basics->page, archives etc)

I also have no plug ins currently in use. I was using Google XML Sitemaps, wp-cache, Google Analyticator. But have turned them all off..

ok, lets rule out posts now. this will also help when comparing to the single post page. You can either go in and set all but one post as drafts, or .. change it so that youre only displaying one post per page.

The end goal is to just show 1 post per page.

Done.. set the posts to show only 1 in the settings area of dashboard. It seems to have cleared up this issue.. the home page shows correctly.

What does this mean? (and thanks again)

it means the problem is in a post…

so, put back the posts one at a time. check the page after you add one.

eventually it’ll break, at which point you’ll know which post it is (the one added right before).

edit that post, remove, or fix, whatever is causing the problem.

I just noticed, after I set the reading settings to view 1 post… it corrected the home page, but if I go to click on any category that has more than 1 post, it still does it. I hadn’t checked the categories before.. looks like the first item in a category has this issue..if I click “next” it doesnt do it

    will do..

one of the posts has a closing div tag in it. i dont know if that one is right and the others are wrong, or vice versa.

    whooami– YOU ROCK.

I removed the posts.. and just did dummy posts.. reset my read settings to see multi posts.. checked the categories and even changed the theme to test.. all is working!!

WOWZA.. musta got over excited and put in a tag in my actual posting

i saw.. was watching. ?? the trick is putting your content back though.
