I just upgraded to 2.1.2 (I think), but 2.1.1 is still displaying at the bottom of my dashboard page. Is this simply an oversight in the release, or did I somehow botch the operation and am still running 2.1.1?

Here’s the process I followed: I deleted everything in the old installation except my config file, my .htaccess, and my customized theme (not one of the themes that come with the installation. Then I uploaded the new files and ran the upgrade script and got a success message.

  • Go to any admin screen and do a hard refresh on your browser.
Ctrl + F5 at same time on keyboard – view bottom of page again.
    Your browser is likely cacheing.

I think I got it. I had uploaded all the files in a zip file and unzipped it using my control panel. Some of the files didn’t unzip properly, for instance “version.php”
