20k posts to preview and blank page

    Hello,

    I’m using the latest version (5.1) and have more than 20k Custom Posts in a taxonomy. I’d like to add a featured image to each of these posts. To achieve this, I use the filter on “custom taxonomy”.

    While the plugin works perfectly for taxonomies with up to 2.000 posts, it does not work with the one containing 20.000 posts. I get a blank page when reaching the “confirm” step.

    Could it be linked to some kind of timeout?

    Hi friiz, the plugin has no timeout function. But I think in either PHP, Server or your browser could happen this.

    What was the effect on the posts? Were featured images set or not or a part of them?

    Hi,

    I’ve tried with two different browsers (Safari & Chrome) and two different servers. The problem remains the same.

    The posts I’m trying to preview don’t have any featured images yet.

    Please note that the blank page appears instantaneously without any “long” loading phase.

    Ok, the last note is the most helpful. This phenomenon is known as “WordPress White Screen of Death”. In most cases it has to do with exhausted memory limits set by PHP and the server. It seems both of your servers do not allow enough memory for the huge amount of 20.000 posts.

    Hello Friiz, if you are not familiar with PHP or WP configs I can build a special script for your site to set the featured image for 20.000 posts avoiding the blank page and to save your time.     Memory limits could not be solved by this plugin, so I see this topic as resolved.
