The 2.0.66.31 update does not fix the quotes issue on shortcodes like this:

    [nggallery id=”16″]

No gallery is displayed, and this error message appears where the gallery would normally be:

    no images were found

The quotes must be removed, like this:

    [nggallery id=16]

Repeatable. Running WP 4.0.1 and Twenty Fourteen theme.

@thenightrider – I am not able to reproduce this issue on my test sites using Twenty Fourteen or any other theme I personally test with.

Have you tried clearing your caches, or perhaps just using an anonymous browser window to see if this issue persists? If so, perhaps a link to where you are seeing this would be helpful?

    Thanks!

@photocrati: Oh yeah, I always use an anonymous browser with cleared everything. Sorry I can’t show you the failure, because I downgraded NGG so I have a working site. ??

@thenightrider – Did you try using the latest version of NextGEN Gallery (2.0.66.33)? There was an edge-case we missed with 2.0.66.31 related to shortcodes.

@cais: Hmmm, while still using 2.0.66.31 and a shortcode:
    [nggallery id=16]
I updated a couple of other plugins:
Contact Form DB 2.8.18 to 2.8.20
Google Analytics by Yoast 5.1.2 to 5.2.4
    WordPress SEO 1.7 to 1.7.1
BEFORE I added back the shortcode quotes in prep for testing the 2.0.66.33 update:
    [nggallery id=”16″]
The gallery rendered correctly with the quotes present at 2.0.66.31, and that was not what happened 3 weeks ago. Not sure what happened, but things don’t fix themselves. Anyway, then I upgraded 2.0.66.31 to 2.0.66.33, and the shortcode with quotes still renders OK.
I should have tested the NGG update first, but I had forgotten about the issue. I could revert the other 3 plugin updates AND the NGG update, then start again, but since everything is working OK now, I’m a bit too tired to go through that exercise. Thanks for the help. Cheers.

@thenightrider – I’m glad to read all appears to be working correctly now … I wouldn’t suspect there would be any reason to revert and retest if that is the case.

    Thanks for the update.
