2024 Theme Blog Posts

Have just installed the new 2024 theme for my website. When I create a new blog posts page with all of my latests posts it has the deafult blog home template assigned to it with études Architect App information and images and text added from the default page theme. I can see that going to appearence> edit > and template s shows the template set by default for the blog posts page. What is the best way to remove the elements I dont want on the page? Do I just edit the default blog home page template and delete all blocks I dont want (more or less all of them)? Or do I create a new blank blog posts page in some way?

Also, is it ok to use past templates such as 2021 or 2022? Or is it always advised to use the most recent?
