• Resolved kb58

    (@kb58)

    Test site is: https://www.kiminipublications.com/wp/

The issue is the space above and below the site’s name, Midlana. I’d like to close up the gaps to lift the lower content into view. I am working from a child of 2016 so I’m covered there.

As an aside, and out of curiosity, why is there so much open space there? Is the main image expected to use it, or is it reserved for a larger main menu than what I’ve got. Just wondering.

(I used to work with HTML code on my very old site and while switching to WordPress has greatly helped, I also feel like I’m starting over trying to figure out what does what!)

    Thanks in advance!

You need to adjust the padding in the .site-header class. See this:

However, 2016 is chock full of breakpoints, so you need to repeat for each of the media queries.

Thank you for the reply, I tried looking but there are so many files I can’t find it. Where is the code that you listed. I assume it’s in something to do with the header, but is it css or php?

    Thanks again.

    It’s CSS; edit your child theme’s style.css

Thank you very much! The first time I opend to the hood on the style.css file, I though, “My god, it’s full of stars.” I now see that virtually everything is changeable, it’s just a matter of knowing what to touch. Thanks again, issue closed!

Steve, if you could post the css for the media queries, I would appreciate it. Your link takes me to a 401 error page.

I have the same issue as Kb58. I can get the spacing correct for the screen I am using, but it then provides way too much white space for any smaller device screen and not enough (overlaps the header) on wider screens.

    Many thanks!
